A new vehicle has been added to Prime Minister Modi's convoy in the Independence Day celebrations of 2019, yes, it used Toyota Land Cruiser. At the same time, his official ride has changed. Recently on his return to India from Thailand tour on November 5, a video of him on some channels went viral, spotting the new Toyota Land Cruiser near him. The special thing was that he had come in the Land Cruiser for the Independence Day celebrations this year, but on November 5, he appeared in the Next Generation Land Cruiser.
The ex-showroom price of the new generation Land Cruiser is Rs 1.7 crore, while its on-road price is around Rs 2 crore. In appearance, it looks like a common land cruiser, but in reality, it is a tremendous bulletproof vehicle. Although Toyota does not manufacture armored vehicles like Mercedes, Land Rover, and BMW, it has probably been ordered from an outside agency.
One thing to note is that the 3.5-ton Land Cruiser is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine, which gives a maximum power of 262 bhp and a torque of 650 Nm. At the same time, this car is four wheel drive and can run easily on bumpy roads. At the same time, the weight of the vehicle increases in bulletproof, due to which it needs a powerful engine. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi used to travel in the Range Rover Sentinel, which comes with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 petrol engine that generates power of 375 bhp. Its top speed is 218 kmph. The Range Rover Sentinel features VR8 ballistic protection that can protect the vehicle from most types of attacks, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
