Kudos to Bajaj Auto! Bajaj has brought back the Pulsar 180 at Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

By feature, Powering the Pulsar 180 is a 178.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces peak output figures of 17hp at 8,500rpm and 14.2Nm at 6,500rpm – 0.2hp and 0.3Nm less than the Pulsar 180F. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The 178.6 cc model gets sporty split seats, black alloy wheels, LED tail lamp, five-speed transmission gearbox with telescopic anti-friction bush in the front suspension and a five-way adjustable nitrox shock absorber in the rear suspension.

The Pulsar 180 is essentially the same bike as the 180F that it replaces, without the half-fairing. It uses the same conventional halogen headlight and an LED tail-lamp, while the digi-analogue instrument cluster has been carried over as well.

The chassis and hardware components are the same, too, with a telescopic fork and mono-shock handling suspension duties, while braking is handled by a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc; single-channel ABS comes as standard. The lack of major bodywork means the Pulsar 180 weighs 145kg – nearly 10kg lighter than the 180F.

Currently, 20 percent of the sports biking segment is accounted for by the 180-200cc motorcycles and new Pulsar 180 will target consumers looking for a sports vehicle offering the best in technology and performance, cementing its leadership in this segment in India that has been unchallenged for the last 20 years, Bajaj Auto said in a statement.
