Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Endgame which was last month has been breaking box-office records left, right and center. Endgame is now, just $298 million away from beating the No. 1 box-office film of all time – James Cameron’s Avatar.
According to the report, Avengers: Endgame has grossed $2.48 billion at the worldwide box office while Avatar stands at $2.78 billion. Though, $300 million doesn’t seem to be a huge task, but it very well might turn out to be more difficult to achieve than it looks. Last week, Ryan Reynolds’ Detective Pikachu released and as a result, Endgame’s box-office collections in North America (The US and Canada) and worldwide has taken a hit. So, while the film made more than $350 million on its opening weekend alone, to make another $300 million at the box-office.
Recently, Hollywood director James Cameron took to his Twitter account to congratulate Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and the team of Avengers: Endgame, after the MCU film took the second spot on the highest-grosser’s list beating his film – Titanic, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
Whether Avengers: Endgame beats Avatar or falls short, Marvel will still be a winner as it has paved the way for its next film, Spider-Man: Far From Home to be a big hit. The film is set to hit theatres on July 5 will have the buzz of Avengers: Endgame.
