Awareness campaigns conducted by the Assam Rifles in Mizoram

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the Serchhip Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the auspices of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), held an awareness campaign in Zokhawthar, Mizoram. The program's purpose was to increase awareness of the rights of girls, particularly in field of education, health, and nutrition.

The general public was also educated on the importance of girls in society and the need to give them with better education and amenities in order for them to flourish. The government has launched various initiatives to better the condition of girls, including Save the Girl Child, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and free and subsidised education for girls in educational institutions, among others. The local population responded enthusiastically to the initiative on National Girl Child Day.

Another news release claimed that the Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles hosted an Anti-Malaria Awareness lecture by Company Operating Base (COB) Saiha in Niawhtlang hamlet in Mizoram on Saturday, under the supervision of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).

Twenty-two citizens attended the lecture. The purpose of the talk was to raise awareness among the local population regarding malaria prevention and treatment. The civilian praised the Assam Rifles' efforts to raise awareness about the mosquito-borne disease.
