Ayodhya's Ram temple priests get a new dress code and stricter guidelines, according to temple trust officials. Effective from July 1, the priests have changed from their traditional saffron attire to yellow (pitambari) dhotis paired with matching kurtas and turbans.

Previously adorned in saffron turbans, kurtas, and dhotis, the priests now wear yellow attire as mandated by temple authorities. Training sessions have been conducted to ensure all priests can properly tie the yellow turbans.

The new uniform includes 'chaubandi' kurtas without buttons, fastened with a thread, and yellow cotton dhotis worn around the waist, extending down to the ankles.

The temple operates with a chief priest and four assistant priests, each supported by five trainee priests. They work in shifts providing continuous service throughout the day.

The newly appointed priests have undergone training sessions specifically to learn how to correctly tie the traditional yellow turbans. Additionally, their attire includes 'chaubandi' kurtas, which are buttonless and secured with a thread, along with yellow cotton 'dhotis' worn around the waist and extending to the ankles.

Within the temple, there is a team structure consisting of a chief priest and four assistants. Each assistant priest now oversees a group of five trainee priests, collectively providing service in shifts lasting five hours, spanning from 3:30 am to 11 pm.

In addition to the uniform change, priests are now prohibited from bringing mobile phones into the temple premises.
