Ayodhya witnessed a significant event as the statue of Ram Lalla arrived at the temple late on Wednesday evening. Using a crane, the black stone idol, crafted by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj and weighing approximately 150-200 kg, was carefully placed in the sanctum sanctorum in preparation for the upcoming 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony.
The idol's arrival was part of a procession that included a symbolic stop at Ayodhya's Hanumangarhi temple. A crane was used to lift the idol from the truck, and an image captured the moment it was positioned inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum. Prior to its placement, a special puja took place in the sacred space.
Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra announced that the idol is expected to be officially installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday. This significant step occurred on the second day of the weeklong rituals leading up to the grand ceremony scheduled for Monday.
Preparations for transporting the idol to the new Ram temple complex had been underway since the previous night. Late at night, the idol was adorned with flowers and carefully loaded onto a truck for the procession using the crane.
Simultaneously, a silver idol of Ram Lalla, distinct from the one to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum, was adorned with roses and marigolds and toured the Ram temple premises this evening. As part of the ongoing rituals leading to the January 22 event, a "Kalash Pujan" was conducted today.
