Azam Khan trapped in another case, charges of misuse of govt letter pad and stamp framed

Lucknow: Former Cabinet Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Azam Khan has been charged in the MP MLA court on Wednesday (October 12) in connection with the misuse of government letter pads and stamps. Special Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ambarish Kumar Srivastava framed charges and fixed November 4 for deposition.

Azam Khan was personally present in the court during the hearing. Earlier on September 29, the court had rejected the discharge application filed by Azam Khan. In the court, the allegations against SP's strong Muslim leader Azam Khan were read out. On behalf of Azam Khan, denying the allegations, he demanded a trial of the case.

Giving information in this regard, prosecution officer Sonu Singh Rathore has said that a report was lodged against Azam Khan on February 1, 2019, at Hazratganj police station by Allama Naqvi. It was alleged that in the year 2014, Azam Khan had made controversial remarks regarding BJP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Maulana Kalbe Jawad on his official letter pad.
