Recently, Pragya Singh (27) wife Deepak Singh of Kathy Shankarpur village of Devgaon Kotwali area of Azamgarh district has been shot dead in the house at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening. In this case, the family members first told to shoot at two bike riding miscreants, but the father of the deceased, who arrived on the information, accused the in-laws of the murder. According to reports, the deceased was watching TV with his innocent child in the room next to Baramde and the bullet hit his face near Pragya's nose.

Pragya died on the spot as soon as the bullet was fired and the surrounding people came to know about the incident after the family members made noise. On receiving information in this matter, SP Triveni Singh, SP City Pankaj Pandey as well as Devgaon Kotwali Police reached the spot. With this, the deceased's father Kuldeep Singh resident of Lodhapur Palhna police station Devgaon Kotwali also reached the spot shortly after and accused the daughter's in-laws of the murder on the spot.

The father disclosed to the police that, "When the daughter's husband Deepak Singh called to inform about the incident, he said that your daughter is finished, I have shot her." After this statement of the father of the deceased, the police have taken into custody the husband Deepak Singh, father-in-law and mother-in-law. At the same time, the police took the body and sent it for postmortem. The deceased was married two years ago and was the mother of two children.
