Baazaar Movie Review: Saif Ali Khan’s negative Role is must watch

Keeping aside the box office performances of last few releases Saif Ali Khan has been giving some brilliant performances. Sometimes direction fails him, sometimes screenplay or sometimes lack of promotion etc but that’s an argument for another time. His latest film Baazaar is another example of a scene-stealing performance.

Baazaar tells story of Rizwan Siddiqui (Rohan Mehra). He is a small-time stockbroker. His ideal is Shakun Kothari (Saif Ali Khan). He is a well-known businessman. Shakun in the media, in authority and among his friends and opponents is considered as a cheater but for Rizwan he is like god and he wants to work for him.  Time comes when Rizwan life takes a turn when he at last catches Shakun’s eye. But the question  is it for good?

In the movie mainly Saif Ali Khan’s performance is up to the mark. He is extraordinary. The initial few scenes in the film are somewhat gauche but the movie picks  its speed when Saif makes an entry and takes the centre-stage. His evil magnetism is communicable that keeps the momentum going in spite of a number of cliches and faults of the film.

The screenplay of the movie is okay but it’s the implementation of a number of scenes leaves a lot to be most wanted. There are a number of scenes that bring out not deliberate laughter. The first half is just about average but the movie becomes pretty interesting in the second hour. However, the climax is weedy.

If you love Saif only then you should visit the theater to watch the film.
