New Delhi: Baba Ramdev made an entry in the Dairy sector and launched cow milk and other dairy products. The main thing which can affect the competitors is that the cost price of the milk is Rs. 40 per litre which is 2 Rs. less from their products. Apart from milk, Patanjali also launched frozen products including peas, mixed vegetables and French fries. It has also launched solar pannel. It will also to launch the flavour milk.
In the launching event, Baba Ramdev milk a cow and lunched the cow milk along with curd, cheese and chaach (butter milk). Patanjali is already dealing in the Cow Ghee and cow whole milk powder. Patanjali also launched packaged drinking water under brand ‘Divya Jal’ and cattle feed ‘Dugdh Amrat’.
The company has planned to lunch the product in different phases. In first phase it will sell products in market of Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Pune and Mumbai, therefore the company has tied up with 56,000 retailers to sell the products. After this company will spread its business in other remaining states. Patanjali expects production of 10 lakh litres of milk in 2019-2020.
The entry of patanjali can be a major problem for the existing market leaders as people have more trust its products. It would be interesting to see that what stratgies will the patanjali adopt to make be sucessful in dairy sector and how existing brands respond it.
