Ranchi: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has merged with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Jawimo chief Babulal Marandi joined the BJP in the presence of former BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah garlanded Babulal Marandi and welcomed him to the party. Along with Marandi, several office bearers of Jhavimo also joined BJP.

It is being told that the central leadership of the party can make Babulal Marandi the Leader of the Opposition in the assembly after the merger of JVM in the BJP. Babulal Marandi has returned home to BJP after 14 years. In 2006, he split from the BJP and formed a new party. However, his party's performance was not much and continued to fall. In the Jharkhand assembly elections of 2009, 2014 and 2019, his party won only 11, eight and three seats.

The first CM of Jharkhand was Babulal Marandi. On Monday, he returned to the BJP after nearly 14 years. After Babulal's return home, there can be a big upsurge in BJP politics in Jharkhand.
