Ranchi: Politics has heated up in Jharkhand over incidents of love jihad. The BJP has accused the Hemant Soren government of patronising love jihadis in the state while targeting Muslim appeasement. Babulal Marandi has said in sharp words that the Hemant Soren government will wipe out the existence of Jharkhand and Jharkhandis at the hands of jihadis. BJP legislature party leader and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren has criticised the Hemant Soren government, referring to the gang-rape and murder of a minor in Giridih and the suicide of a girl in Ramgarh for forcing her to convert to Islam and get married. Babulal Marandi said that reports of love jihad are coming out from different districts and states. He said that all this is the result of appeasement. ย
"Many reports of love jihad are coming from Giridih, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Dumka and many more districts and different areas of the state. Somewhere criminals are pressuring Hindu daughters to convert, somewhere they are threatening to kill them, at some places daughters are also being brutally murdered. One such heinous incident has happened in Giridih. The point to note is that criminals trap Hindu daughters by changing their names (hiding their real names โ by keeping them Hindu names), then the disgusting game of love jihad begins. Love Jihad is a cruel truth, society should understand its seriousness. Identify those who promote it and oust them from power in the upcoming elections, be ready to fight a decisive battle. Otherwise, this Hemant government of appeasement will destroy the existence of Jharkhand and Jharkhandis in the hands of jihadis." ย

On Thursday, a girl committed suicide in Khalari due to pressure on her to get married and then change her religion. In Ramgarh, a Muslim man attacked a Hindu woman with a knife after she refused to befriend him, while a Hindu girl was gang-raped and murdered in Birna police station area of Giridih. ย
