Agra: There is good news for mothers coming with newborns to see the Taj Mahal. An air-conditioned baby feeding room is to be open in the Taj Mahal campus from Thursday (29 August). In fact, on an average 22,000 tourists visit the Taj Mahal every day. It is one of the main attractions for Indian and foreign tourists. Earlier this year, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) announced to build a breastfeeding room here, which will facilitate women tourists.

Union Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel will inaugurate the nursing room at the Taj Mahal complex on Thursday. "This is the first baby feeding room to open in an Indian monument," said Vasant Kumar Swarnkar, superintendent archaeologist at ASI, He said that there is a 12 by 12 feet room in the Taj Mahal complex in which there is a diaper changing table, sofa set, specially designed to feed the baby.

He said, there will be a lady employee in the room who will support the mothers. This room will provide a private space for breastfeeding mothers, which is very important.
