The BAI general secretary said that some state associations have nodded in approval, while others want to wait till the situation improves.

Singhania further said that the BAI will review the situation and start the badminton tournament in September. He said that the Indian Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju had given permission to hold the tournament from July or August if the safety protocol is followed. Singhania said he was hoping for the best for security and finance, with BAI being one of the key forks in the effort to restart badminton. At the same time, it is being said that amid the economic crisis created by the coronovirus lockdown, BAI Secretary General Ajay Singhania revealed his concerns about financing. The Badminton Association of Malaysia has already requested the BWF for financial assistance to host the Malaysia Open in November. Singhania admitted that it would be challenging to find a sponsor in the current climate, and some exitists have already informed BAI about this.

BAI Secretary General said that he is in touch with the Sports Ministry and it is expected that things will eventually fall. Singhania said that resuming the game after months would result in a surge in participants due to lack of funding amid lockdowns. He accepts that it will be difficult to organize the tournament as he will have to follow several guidelines but is eagerly waiting for the sports activity to resume.
