Like Kedarnath Dham, Badrinath Dham will now have a grand appearance. For this, the tourism department has prepared a master plan through the consultancy. The proposed plan will be presented to the Chief Minister, Tourism Minister and Chief Secretary after taking suggestions from local pilgrims, rightful holders and local people. After the consent, the master plan will be placed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the first time, the tourism department has prepared a master plan to give Badrinath Dham a grand appearance. In this, beautification works will be done with the facilities of devotees coming to Badrinath Dham. The devotees will be provided with cold escape, stay, Badri Tal with seating, beautification of Netra Tal, parking will be constructed. The master plan will provide open space in the campus. So far, due to less space at the entrance, the crowd of devotees increases.

Tourism Secretary Dilip Javalkar informed that the master plan has been presented to the Chief Minister. After taking the suggestion of master plan with the local people and priests, it will again be placed before the CM, Minister of Tourism and Chief Secretary. The plan will be sent to the PMO only after the final consent. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed to prepare an action plan to conduct tourism activities throughout the year. He said that tourism should be promoted especially in the tourist places located on the road, besides the travel period. Tourism Secretary Dilip Javalkar also apprised the Chief Minister of the proposed master plan of Badrinath Dham. The Chief Minister discussed the promotion of tourism activities in the state through video conferencing with Ashwini Lohani, Advisor to the Chardham Devasthanam Board, and Subhash Goyal, General Secretary of the Federation of Associations in India Tourism and Hospitality.

In the meeting, Lohani told the need to develop Uttarakhand tourism as a brand. He also expressed great potential for tourism in the rich wild life of the state. Goyal said that special attention should be paid to high end tourism in Uttarakhand. In this, cooperation of tourism industry and tourism related institutions should also be taken. Secretary Tourism Javalkar gave information about various dimensions of tourism in Uttarakhand and currently ongoing tourism projects. He informed about Chardham Devasthanam Board, Home Stay, Adventure Tourism, Rope-Way Project, 13 District 13 Destination etc.
