Bahrain has launched a 10-year Golden Residency Visa in order to attract foreign investment and expertise. The statement comes after a series of economic reforms and efforts implemented by the Bahraini government, including the Economic Recovery Plan, to improve the kingdom's long-term competitiveness.

"The new Golden Residency Visa will benefit foreign investors and long-term residents while also contributing to the national economy," stated Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs.

Qualified applicants must have lived in Bahrain for at least five years and have earned a monthly basic average salary of at least 2,000 Bahraini Dinars ($5,306) during that time.

Other requirements include owning one or more properties in Bahrain worth at least 200,000 Bahraini Dinars, or having a monthly income of at least 4,000 Bahraini Dinars as a retiree, or being certified as "very skilled." To keep their visas valid, applicants must spend at least 90 days in Bahrain each year.
