The Badminton Association of India (BAI) is scheduled to conduct selection trials for the Asian Junior Championships at the Karnail Singh Stadium here from June 4 to 7. The Asian Junior Championships are scheduled to be held in Indonesia from July 7 to 16. The players are going to be selected on the basis of their performance in the trials. The top eight boys and girls will participate in the trials while the top four pairs are scheduled to play in the doubles. These rankings were decided by the All India Junior Ranking Tournament held in Guwahati this month. India has so far won two gold, one silver and six bronze medals in this championship.

Fognini scored 49 winners against Murray's 24. Another experienced player Stan Wawrinka has had to sweat too much to beat Ilya Ivashka 6-2, 6-4. The match was delayed by 90 minutes due to rain. Wawrinka is 38 years old and is the oldest player participating in the tournament. Alexander Bublik, Christian Gerrin, Marton Fuchsovics and Sebastian Beij also managed to win.

China's Yu Yibing made a comeback after trailing, defeating veteran French player Richard Gasquet 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. In the women's section, Lesia Surenko defeated two-time champion Compatriot Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and showed the way out. Sloane Stephens defeated Nadia Podoroska 6-4, 6-1 and will face 14th seed Victoria Azarenka in the next round.
