New Delhi: The hearing on the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently jailed in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, has been postponed to June 14. The hearing took place in the court of Special Judge Kaveri Baveja at Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju and Zoheb Hussain, representing the Enforcement Directorate (ED), opposed Kejriwal's bail plea.

Senior advocate N Hariharan, representing Kejriwal, informed the court that the legal team had not received an advance copy of the ED's reply. He stated that the ED's response was only provided to them a few minutes before the hearing. Hariharan requested that the bail plea be sent to the vacation bench for hearing.

On Friday, the Delhi court adjourned the bail plea of Arvind Kejriwal to June 14. When the case was heard today, Hariharan sought more time to review the 182-page reply filed by the ED, claiming they received it just before the hearing. He urged the court to schedule the hearing for the next day, arguing that receiving an advance copy meant more than receiving it just half an hour before the hearing.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju noted that holding the hearing the next day would cut into the trial court's summer vacation, which was set to begin. He highlighted that the ED had numerous cases to handle and that scheduling during vacation would be burdensome. Despite this, Hariharan insisted that the ED could not delay the bail hearing due to court holidays. Ultimately, Special Judge Kaveri Baveja adjourned the matter for a week, rescheduling the hearing to June 14, with Vacation Judge Mukesh Kumar set to hear the case.
