Bajaj Auto has introduced the Chetak 2901, its latest addition to the electric scooter lineup, priced at INR 95,998 (ex-showroom, Bangalore). The Chetak 2901 is now available in five colors: Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow, and Azure Blue.

Featuring a sturdy metal body and advanced technological features, the Chetak has made a strong impact in the electric scooter market. Bajaj Auto aims to attract both traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle users and electric vehicle enthusiasts by offering a stylish, durable, and feature-rich scooter at an affordable price.

The Chetak 2901 boasts an ARAI-certified range of 123 km and includes a Coloured Digital Console, Alloy Wheels, and Bluetooth Connectivity for added comfort and convenience. Customers can enhance their scooters with the TecPac, which introduces features like Hill Hold, Reverse, Sport and Economy modes, Call and Music Control, Follow Me Home lights, and Bluetooth App connectivity.

The expanded Chetak portfolio caters to diverse customer preferences, from daily commuters looking for a reliable scooter (Chetak 2901) to tech-savvy users seeking a fully equipped electric scooter (Chetak Premium). All variants can be upgraded with the TecPac, offering app connectivity, call management, music control, geo-fencing, and different ride modes, customizing the riding experience to individual needs.

Eric Vas, President of Urbanite at Bajaj Auto Ltd., highlighted, "We are pleased to announce the start of shipments of Chetak 2901 to Chetak dealerships. The Chetak 2901 is designed, specced and priced to attract customers who are currently purchasing a petrol scooter to a proper full size metal body electric scooter that can match and exceed a petrol scooter, without denting their wallet. The Chetak 2901 can be had for an on-road price close to that of a petrol scooter and comes with more than 123 km of ARAI certified range. Retails to consumers shall start from 15 June onwards. We believe Chetak 2901 shall dramatically expand the electric scooter market."

The company has expanded its dealership network significantly, with the scooters available at over 500 showrooms across India.

Bookings for the Chetak 2901 are now open on the company’s website and at authorized showrooms. Customers can visit their nearest showroom for detailed product information, test rides, and bookings.

The Chetak Premium, Chetak Urbane, and Chetak 2901 models have all received approval for the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI). Bajaj Auto Ltd. is also part of the Indian government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Electric Vehicles.
