Meanwhile, the banner of the festival was torn to death and the outrage continued till Test of India owner Sandeep Dawar apologised to Hindu organisations. According to media reports, Sandeep Dawar, who runs several restaurants in Surat, apologised to Hindu organisations saying he had replaced the Pakistani Food Festival with a seafood festival. According to some reports, he will no longer sell food with the word Mughali, not using the word Pakistani.

The banner in Surat city made headlines on social media when Congress corporator Aslam Cyclewala shared the video on his Facebook. It did not take long for the video to go viral and Bajrang Dal workers reached the spot by noon. It was found there that the Pakistani Food Festival event at the restaurant is scheduled to be held from December 12-22. All the people of the organization then went to the roof of the building amidst slogans of 'Jai Shriram' and 'Har Har Mahadev' and took down the banner and set it on fire in front of the people.

Bajrang Dal leader Devi Prasad Dubey said such festivals will not be tolerated at all. "We have come to know about the hoarding from social media, after which we got clearance from South Gujarat President Dinesh Navadia. Later we went to the spot and brought down the hoarding. We also called the owner of the restaurant. Asked him why he had organized such a food festival. He apologized. We also told them that between December 12 and 22, we would secretly send our volunteers to the restaurant. If Pakistani food is served, it will be responsible for the consequences. '
