The key to healthy eating is to enjoy a variety of nutritious foods. You want your child to eat healthy foods, but do you know which nutrients are necessary and in what amounts? Here are some of the nutrients that will give your child a balanced diet and a good nutrition.

Vitamins and minerals are needed in very small quantities and therefore are called micronutrients. Vitamins and minerals help the normal growth and function of the body and protect us from many diseases.

Grains (Cereals) always choose wholegrain and high fibre varieties of breads, cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, etc.

Water presents the essence of our life and constitutes the largest part of our body. Water is an integral part of lymphatic system and blood and with its help the necessary nutrients are delivered to each cell in our body.

Serve Proteins such as seafood, lean meat and poultry, eggs, beans, peas, soy products, and unsalted nuts and seeds.

Fruits provide vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre and many phytonutrients (nutrients naturally present in plants), that help your body stay healthy.

Serve a variety of fresh vegetables, including dark green, red and orange, beans and peas, starchy and others, every week.

Dairy products have an excellent source of calcium, which is important for strong healthy bones.
