The first episode of the famous television serial 'Balika Vadhu' was telecast on Colors TV on July 21, 2008. The story of the show not only reached door to door but the roles left an indelible mark on the hearts of the audience. Surekha Sikri played Dadi Sa which has become memorable forever. On Instagram, Avika shared a photo of a scene from the serial 'Balika Vadhu' in which Surekha is pampering her. Avika says, "I am very sad to hear about the death of my mentor Surekha Sikri Ji. She is one of the greatest actresses in Indian films, she is a legend. She has inspired many generations of artists. She will always be remembered. RIP. Surekha Ma'am was an inspiration who guided in a very brilliant way."

She adds, "What to say about Surekha Ji, who told us the way, taught us how to follow that path, and she did all this very well. She has been an inspiration to people like me who dream of becoming like her in every possible way. Their love and warmth are unmatched and there will never be anyone else like her.'' Avika says that she is lucky to have the opportunity to work with Surekha Sikri mam.
