Ban on construction and demolition activities, entry of trucks lifted in Delhi

New Delhi: Entry of trucks in Delhi will be allowed till further orders amid the threat of air pollution and rising Omicron. The Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) has lifted the ban on construction and entry of trucks in Delhi with immediate effect. With this, the ban on construction-demolition activities in Delhi-NCR has been lifted.

(CAQM) has granted this permission with compliance with the rules. The commission has taken this decision in view of the improvement in pollution levels in Delhi. According to the Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM), entry of trucks in Delhi will be allowed till further orders with immediate effect. Construction-demolition activities in NCR will be allowed with immediate effect, provided pollution control norms are strictly followed.

Earlier, the DDMA held a review meeting on Monday in view of the rising cases of Omicron. The meeting, which was held through video conferencing, was led by the Lieutenant Governor. During this time, the current status of Covid-19 was reviewed. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Satyendra Jain, NITI Aayog member VK Paul, Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev and Delhi government health department officials. The Health Minister also spoke about the preparedness made by the government.
