Ban on international commercial passenger flights extended till May 31, guidelines issued DGCA

New Delhi: The Office of Directors General of Civil Aviation has issued an official notice extending the ban on international commercial passenger flights till May 31. State that this ban has been in force since March 2020. However, the ban will not apply to international cargo operations and flights approved by the aviation regulator.

The notice issued by the DGCA said, "In the partial amendment dated June 26, 2020, the competent authority has extended the validity of the notice issued on the subject upto 31st May, 2021. The ban will not apply specifically to international all-cargo operations and flights approved by DGCA. However, international scheduled flights may be allowed to ply on selected routes".

State that all scheduled international flights were banned on March 23 last year in view of the Corona virus epidemic. However, many international flights were operated under bilateral air bubble agreements for which India had signed with several countries. India has entered into air bubble agreements with 27 countries including usa, UK, UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France. Under this agreement, special international flights between the two countries can be operated by their airlines.
