After PM Modi's announcement of extending the lockdown till May 3, the migrant workers suddenly started demanding a large number of roads to be sent to the hometown in Mumbai's Bandra railway station and Mumbra area of Thane. The police had to use mild force to send a crowd of about 3,000 people gathered in Bandra back to their homes. It is being told that a large number of people started gathering at the station due to a message of the train going viral. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that orders have been issued against those who spread rumors of starting trains. Strict action will be taken against those spreading the rumor.

Lockdown does not mean lockup. The state and central government will arrange to send you to your home as soon as the lockdown ends."

On Tuesday, the ration started to be given to the few hundred people who came to Bandra, the crowd started growing. Even after convincing the police, people were not ready to go back. Since a large number of people gathered were from a particular community, the religious leader of a mosque located nearby was also asked to explain to the people. Even after the address of the religious leaders, when the people were not ready to return, the police had to use light force. People dispersed from there only after the incident lasted for two and a half hours.
