The Citizenship Act and the National Civil Register (NRC) have been described by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as an internal matter of India, but at the same time they said that citizenship law was not necessary. Referring to citizenship law in an interview to Gulf News, he said that we do not understand why the Indian government did this. This law was not required. Before Hasina, Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Moman had said that CAA and NRC are India's internal issues, but any uncertainty in the country is likely to affect its neighbors.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi said that there is no migration of people from India, but people are facing problems in India. Matters are.

Apart from this, Sheikh Hasina said that the Government of India has also reiterated on its part that NRC is India's internal matter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally assured him during his visit to New Delhi in October 2019. He said that relations between Bangladesh and India are the best at this time. Cooperation between the two countries has increased in many areas. The NRC is designed to identify genuine Indian citizens living in Assam and illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the state. Out of the 3.3 million applicants, over 19 lakh people are out of the last NRC published on August 30. However, these people will get many other opportunities to prove their citizenship. On the other hand, the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed in Parliament last month. There is a lot of protest in this country. Under this law, due to persecution in three countries Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, there is a provision to give citizenship to religious minorities who came to India by 31 December 2014.
