Bangladeshi terror outfit builds a stronghold in West Bengal, teaching lesson of jihad to youth

Kolkata: Bangladesh's terror outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) is carrying out its nefarious activities in West Bengal. The Union Home Ministry, on the basis of its intelligence inputs, has said that the JMB is working to recruit its jihadist activities and youth in the crescent and Mushidabad districts of West Bengal.

The Central Government has notified JMB and its related organizations as terrorist organisations. It may be mentioned that on October 2, 2014, there was an explosion at a house in Burdwan district of West Bengal in which a man named Shakeel Ghazi was killed. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that JBM members want to overthrow a democratically elected government in Bangladesh and establish a Shariah law.

According to some intelligence reports, terrorist camps have been set up along the Bangladesh-India West Bengal border by JMB and other terrorist organizations. The presence of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists of Pakistani origin in these camps is reported. The terror outfit is using the West Bengal border area not only for the hideout but also for recruiting terrorists.
