Bengaluru: Karnataka's capital Bengaluru has attracted everyone's attention. Bengaluru Mayor Gangambik Mallikarjun had given a gift to CM Bs Yeddyurappa of the province in the past. The Bruhat Bengaluru Municipal Corporation (BBMP) has slapped a fine of Rs 500 on the mayor after he was given a gift to Yeddyurappa.
The gift given by Mahpur Gangabik Mallikarjun to CM BS Yeddyurappa was wrapped in plastic. Even after plastic was banned in the city, a mayor has been fined Rs 500 by the BBMP for gifting such plastic wrap to the chief minister. At the same time, the Mayor has been warned not to do any further.
Social media users have praised the move by Bruhat Bengaluru Metropolitan Palik or BBMP after the copy of the fine was shared online. Social media users say that if steps are taken at the administrative level, only then can the ban be imposed on plastic use across the country. The city of Bengaluru was completely banned from using plastic in 2016, which is still continuing.
