Banks will be closed for a total of 11 days in March. This includes four Sundays and two second Saturdays. According to the RBI Holiday Calendar March 2021, there are 5 days when banks of different states will remain. According to RBI, banks will remain closed on March 5, 11, 22, 29 and 30. If you are also planning to go to the bank in the month of March, then you are advised to make your plan according to the bank holidays. Because bank branches will be closed these days, mobile and internet banking will remain functional as usual. Customers can transact through the online mode.
Meanwhile banks may also remain closed in mid-March as many bank unions have called for a nationwide strike against the government's plan to privatize the banking sector. The two-day strike will be observed on 15 and 16 March.
