Today is the 128th death anniversary of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, author of India's national song Vande Mataram. He died on April 8, 1894. Bankim Chandra, through his novels, had contributed immensely in building the consciousness of rebellion against the British Government among the countrymen. So let's know some special things related to his life.

Bankim Chandra Ji was born on 27 June 1838 in Kanthalpada, North Twenty Four Parganas of Bengal, among a Bengali family. He was a noted Bengali novelist, poet, prose, and journalist. Who became the inspiration of revolutionaries during the period of the Indian freedom struggle. Rabindranath Thakur's predecessor is his second-highest place among Bengali litterateurs.

Bankim Chandra was educated at Hooghly College and Presidency College, Kolkata. In the year 1857, he passed his BA and in 1869 received a law degree. He was the first Indian to receive a BA from the Presidency College. After which he took a government job and retired from government service in 1891. He died in April 1894. Soon after the completion of his education, he was appointed to the post of Deputy Magistrate. For some time he also held the post of Secretary to the Government of Bengal.

National anthem for the country: Bankim Chandra started his writing career with an English novel, but later he started writing in Hindi. The national anthem and other compositions for the country are still remembered today.

The composition of such a national song: Let us tell you that when the song was composed by Bankim Chandra, the British rulers dominated India. A song from Britain was' God! Save the Queen'. This song has been made mandatory in every function in India. Bankim Chandra was in a government job then. Bankim was offended by the behavior of the British and he composed a song in the year 1876 and titled it 'Vande Mataram'.
