Dehradun: Stone pelting is done in a temple in Uttarakhand not to protest but to celebrate the festival. Every year, on the festival of Raksha Bandhan, a large number of devotees gather and stone-pelting occurs at the temple. In the meantime, 120 people have been injured this year. The 'Bagwal' stone pelting festival is celebrated here every year to please the goddess. On the day of Raksha Bandhan, devotees gather at the temple of the goddess and throw stones at each other. A large number of people also visit the festival. This festival is also known as Bagwal Mela. It is a custom to throw stones. But the High Court has imposed a ban on stone-pelting.
So, this time, people showered fruits instead of stones following the order of the High Court at this fair. Pears and apples were used in fruits. The 'war', which lasted for about 10 minutes, left around 120 people injured. Those who were discharged after first aid. A large number of people came to watch the war.
