Chandigarh: In Punjab, the British media agency BBC has come down heavily on the ongoing action against Amritpal Singh, the head of Waris Punjab De, a pro-Khalistan organization. The government has banned the Twitter handle of BBC News Punjabi in India. Earlier, some other Twitter handles were also banned. A message is visible when visiting BBC Punjabi's Twitter handle, '@bbcnewspunjabi'. The message states that this handle has been blocked in India in response to a legal demand. This is not the first time that this type of action has been taken on BBC.

Let us tell you that earlier, the government had banned the screening of the BBC's propaganda documentary 'India: The Modi Question' in India. This documentary was made on the Gujarat riots in the year 2022. In this documentary, an attempt is made to attack the unity and integrity of India. Let us inform you that earlier on March 19, 2023, the Twitter handles of a pro-Khalistan MP and Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief, Simranjit Singh Mann, were also banned in the same way. He is a Member of Parliament from the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat. Simranjit's Twitter handle also shows the message "Account suspended in India in response to legal demand".

Not only this, but on March 20, 2023, the Twitter handle of Canadian MP Jagmeet Singh was also banned in India. Let us tell you that the Twitter handles on which action is being taken are accused of showing or telling wrongly about the action of the Punjab Police against Amritpal Singh. In such a situation, the question also arises as to whether the BBC was also running Khalistani propaganda, in support of which this action has been taken.
