Mumbai: The BCCI has found a senior Indian cricket team player guilty in a case of violation of his family rules. The player had requested his wife to stay together for more than 15 days of the permissible period, but the Committee of Administrators (COA) ruled out it. It is learnt that the wife of the player stayed with him for a full seven weeks during the tournament when permission was not obtained from the captain or the coach.

"Yes, the same player was not allowed in the meeting held on May 3, he violated the 15-day rule during the World Cup. Now the question here is whether the player had sought permission from the coach or captain - from the qualified officers in view of keeping his wife with him for extra days. So the answer is 'no'.
"According to the pti documents, the COA had discussed the issue in the meeting held on May 3 and did not approve the request. A BCCI source who was aware of this confirmed to PTI on condition of anonymity that the violation was definitely due. The matter is yet to be reported to the COA, the COA is expected to take cognisance of the matter and seek a report from the manager.
