This year it was scheduled to be held in India in March but it could not happen due to Coronavirus. This league is going to be held in the UAE. Even before the tournament starts, people are curious about its schedule and the teams. Meanwhile, the chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sourav Ganguly, has told that when its schedule will be released. In a conversation with a news website, the former captain has said that "On Friday, September 4, the full schedule of the Indian Premier League will be released".

The tournament will begin with a match between the three-time champion and last season's runner-up Chennai Super Kings and four-time winner Mumbai Indian. The final match of the league is going to be held on 10 November.
