Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved the appointment of the next coach of the Indian cricket team by mid-August. The approval was given by the BCCI's legal team. This was disclosed by the COA on Monday. The BCCI has given the selection of coaches to the newly appointed Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). The panel includes the country's first World Cup winner, captain Kapil, Anshuman Gaikwad and former women captain Shanta Rangaswamy.

Talking about the BCCI's October 22 elections, COA Chief Vinod Rai said that 26 state unions are fully complying with Lodha's recommendations and have made election officials for the election of state units. The COA met in the capital ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on August 8 to discuss a number of issues. Examining the conflict of interest manifesto was the main theme of his agenda.

Roy was asked if the CAC had been approved to appoint the next main coach, he said, adding that we examined it... That is correct. Everything is fine. The CAC decision will be final and the candidates' interview will take place in the middle of August. It will be appointed thereafter. We will consult with the judge," Roy said.

A total of 26 state units are ready to hold elections while four other states abide by union conditions but have not appointed election officials so far. Of course, only those who have followed (the Lodha recommendations) will be able to vote in the BCCI elections.
