New Delhi: The impact of the growing corona crisis all over the world, including India, is now visible on IPL as well. Players present in the safe bio bubble are getting their family's concern. Apart from veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, some Australian and England players have also dropped IPL in between. Meanwhile, BCCI has said that it will not affect the tournament and the league will continue in the same way.

According to a BCCI official, "IPL will continue. If someone wants to leave, there is no harm in that".  He also said, "If the situation worsens in Delhi, we have kept Indore and Hyderabad as options". On the other hand, the Cricket Australia and Australia Cricketers Association said in a joint statement, "They are in touch with their cricketers, coaches, and commentators involved in the IPL and are monitoring the situation". A spokesperson for the England and Wales Cricket Board said "We've been in constant touch with our players. Our thoughts are with the people of India in this difficult time".

Meanwhile, KKR mentor David Hussey has said, "Some Australians involved in the IPL are "nervous" about how they will return home due to the increase in corona cases in India. Former Australian cricketer Hussey has told the Sydney Morning Herald, ''Everyone is a little nervous about how players will go back". Hussey said a tough bio bubble has been built for IPL, but it is natural for players to be worried about India's current situation.
