New Delhi: Team India captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid and senior player Virat Kohli will appear before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after returning to India from Australia after the humiliating defeat to England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. After this, the BCCI will take a decision on the future of the T20 team.

According to the report, a BCCI official has said that the next step will be taken only after Dravid and both the players (Rohit and Kohli) listen to them after they return from Australia. Talking to the media, an official has said, "We will call a meeting and discuss the roadmap for our T20 squad. We don't want to take a hasty decision. Let the team management and the players speak first. After this, the board will take a decision.''

In the second semi-final match of the T20 World Cup 2022, England achieved the target of 169 runs with 4 overs remaining. Openers Alex Hales (86 not out) and Jos Buttler (80 not out) blew away the Indian bowlers and scored 170 runs off just 96 balls. This was England's highest-opening partnership in T20 cricket. This was also the biggest opening partnership in the T20 World Cup. England will now face Pakistan in the final on Sunday.
