New Delhi: The BCCI, represented by former Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly, on Sunday decided to lax the Supreme Court-approved administrative reforms limiting the tenure of its officials. The BCCI thus attempted to pave the way for furthering the nine-month tenure of former Indian Captain Ganguly.

This decision was taken at the 88th Annual General Meeting of BCCI and will require the approval of the Supreme Court to implement it. Giving information, a top officer has said that all the proposed amendments have been approved and now they will be sent to the Supreme Court. According to the current constitution, if an officer has completed two years of three years by joining BCCI or State Association, he will have to take the required break of three years.

Let me tell you that Sourav Ganguly, former captain of the Indian team, took over as the BCCI President on 23 October and he will have to step down next year, but after the exemption, he can continue till 2024. Let me tell you that in October he was elected the new President of BCCI. In this regard, he has a tenure of 9 months.
