Famous Indian actress Archana Puran Singh is celebrating her birthday today. Archana was born on 26 September 1962 in Dehradun in a Punjabi family. Archana did her early studies in Dehradun. Archana was fond of acting since childhood, due to which she left her studies and moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in modelling. Archana Puran Singh is known for her comic timing in Bollywood. Whether it is Preeto of the film 'Mohabbatein' or Miss Brigenza from 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', audiences and critics liked her in all respects.

Archana is married to TV actor and actor Parmeet Sethi. They also have two sons. Aryaman-Ayushman. Archana struggled a lot in her early film career. She worked in several TV ads during her modelling days. In 1987, Archana made her debut in Bollywood. She was seen opposite Naseeruddin Shah in this film. Her first film was a hit, but she failed to impress the directors and producers with her performance. Because of this, she again started getting offers for B-grade films. But Archana did not give up, she accepted to work in A-grade films in supporting role. Apart from the side role, she also performed item songs in films.

Also, Archana started her TV career in 1993 with ZTV show 'Wah Kya Scene Hai'. Her show proved to be a super hit show that year, after which she did Jaane Bhi Do Paro, Shriman-Shrimati. Archana also hosted a celebrity chat show. In 2005, Archana participated in the dance-based reality show Nach Baliye with her husband Parmeet Sethi as a contestant. In 2006, she and her husband Parmeet also hosted the dance-based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She has also appeared as a judge on Sony's show 'Comedy Nights Circus'.
