Dhoopgarh is situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters (4,429 feet) above sea level. It is located about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the main town of Pachmarhi in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. One of the main attractions of Dhoopgarh is its stunning sunset views. As the highest point in the region, it provides an unobstructed vantage point to witness the sun setting behind the hills. Bison Lodge:  It is a heritage building that now houses a museum displaying artifacts related to the history and natural heritage of Pachmarhi. Bison Lodge was built in 1862 by Captain Forsyth, a British officer who discovered Pachmarhi. It served as a summer retreat for the British officers during the colonial era. The lodge derived its name from the presence of Indian bison (gaur) in the surrounding forests. The architecture of Bison Lodge reflects the colonial style prevalent during the British era. The building features a combination of stone and timber construction, with large verandas, high ceilings, and spacious rooms. It exemplifies the colonial charm of that time. Bison Lodge is converted into a museum known as the Bison Lodge Museum.
