According to local beliefs, the Pandavas, the protagonists of the Mahabharata, sought refuge in these caves during their period of exile. It is said that they stayed in these caves for a brief period. The Pandav Caves are carved out of sandstone rocks and display fine craftsmanship. Each cave has a distinct layout and features. They are believed to have been created during the 1st century BC or earlier.

Dhoopgarh: It is the highest point in the Satpura Range and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Sunset views from Dhoopgarh are particularly famous. Dhoopgarh is situated at an altitude of 1,350 meters (4,429 feet) above sea level. It is located about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the main town of Pachmarhi in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. One of the main attractions of Dhoopgarh is its stunning sunset views. As the highest point in the region, it provides an unobstructed vantage point to witness the sun setting behind the hills. The sky is often painted with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. Dhoopgarh also offers captivating views during sunrise. Early morning visitors can witness the rising sun casting its golden rays over the landscape, creating a tranquil and picturesque setting.

Handi Khoh: It is a dramatic gorge with a 300-foot deep precipice and provides panoramic views of the hills and valleys. Handi Khoh is located in the heart of Pachmarhi, surrounded by dense forests and scenic landscapes. It is a large, horseshoe-shaped gorge formed by the erosion of soft sandstone rocks over centuries. The depth of the gorge is approximately 300 feet (91 meters). Handi Khoh offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and forests. Handi Khoh also features an Echo Point where visitors can experience the echo effect. It  is accessible via a trekking trail that leads to the edge of the gorge. Bison Lodge:  It is a heritage building that now houses a museum displaying artifacts related to the history and natural heritage of Pachmarhi. Bison Lodge was built in 1862 by Captain Forsyth, a British officer who discovered Pachmarhi. It served as a summer retreat for the British officers during the colonial era. The lodge derived its name from the presence of Indian bison (gaur) in the surrounding forests. The architecture of Bison Lodge reflects the colonial style prevalent during the British era. The building features a combination of stone and timber construction, with large verandas, high ceilings, and spacious rooms. It exemplifies the colonial charm of that time. Bison Lodge is converted into a museum known as the Bison Lodge Museum.

The museum showcases various exhibits related to the history, archaeology, and natural heritage of Pachmarhi and the surrounding region.
