Dhaka: Fundamentalists in Bangladesh are once again plotting to spread hatred and communal riots. As part of the same conspiracy, fundamentalists hung beef in a plastic bag outside three Hindu temples and a villager's house in the Gendukuri village of the Hatibandh sub-district. This has created communal tension in the area. According to the report, in this regard Dilip Kumar Singh, head of Puja Udyapan Parishad of Hatibandh Upazila said that the incident happened on Friday (31st December 2021) night at Gendukuri Camp Pada located at Sri Sri Radha Govind Mandir, Gendukuri Kuthipada Kali Mandir, Gendukuri Battala Kali Mandir. And beef bags were hung outside Monindranath Burman's house. Four cases have been registered in this regard at the Hatibandh police station.
The incident was reported by the Hindu community at the Shri Shri Radha Govind Temple in the village and protested against the act. Hindus have said that it has hurt their religious sentiments. In such a situation, unless action is taken against the accused, there will be protests. Dilip Singh has expressed apprehension that this may have been due to the local council elections held on December 26, 2021. Talking to police station in-charge Irshadul Alam on Saturday, In-charge of Hatibandh police station said that an inquiry is being conducted into the incident. The police officer said a case will be registered against all those involved in the act.
This is the first such incident in Bangladesh. Earlier in October 2021, a picture of the Quran being disrespected at the Durga puja pandal in Bangladesh during Navratri had gone viral on social media. After which a large number of Hindus were massacred by the fundamentalists. But later it was found that it was an accused named Iqbal Hussain who had placed copies of the Quran in the Durga Puja pandal and then it was spread that the Hindus had insulted the Quran. After which Hindus were attacked and killed by fundamentalists at many places, Hindu women were also gang-raped. Iqbal was later arrested.
