The new excise policy has been approved by the Haryana government. It was approved in the cabinet meeting held here. According to this, beer in Haryana will be cheaper by 10 rupees, but English liquor will become expensive. Now the minimum price for a bottle of English wine will be Rs 900. With this, liquor shops will also open in shopping malls in the state. On the lines of Delhi in Gurugram-Faridabad and Panchkula, the bars will be open till one o'clock in the night and if the liquor vendor wants, then by extending an additional fee of one million rupees per hour, this time limit can be extended. The domestic liquor quota has been reduced from 40 percent to 20 percent. There will be no sale of country liquor from next year.

On Thursday, the Haryana Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal approved the Excise Policy for the year 2020-21. In the current financial year, the target of earning Rs 7500 crore from liquor is not met, in the coming season, a target has been set to raise the revenue of Rs 7.5 thousand crores. In the current session ending on 31 March, it is estimated that Rs 6600-6700 crore will be earned from alcohol.

After the cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, who is handling the Excise and Taxation Department, told reporters that the liquor companies being sent abroad to promote the export of English liquor made in Haryana. Liquor has been exempted from export duty. At the same time, in the new excise policy, the export duty on liquor sent to other states has been reduced from four percent to two percent, instead of six zones, two contractors' zones have been created so that new people will get a chance to join the liquor bid.
