Guwahati: The lifeless, beheaded body of a 12-year-old student, identified as Rajibul Hussain, was discovered on Sunday within the dormitory of Darus Salam Hafizia madrasa in Assam's Cachar district. The gruesome incident unfolded when Hussain had retired to his room after dinner, only for his decapitated body to be found the next morning.
The shocking discovery was made by a madrasa instructor who entered the dormitory to summon children for the 'Fazr Namaz'. Rajibul Hussain's lifeless form lay on the floor, sending shockwaves through the institution. Authorities swiftly took action, sending the body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for a post-mortem examination.
In the wake of this horrifying incident, three madrasa teachers and 20 of Hussain's fellow housemates have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. The madrasa itself has been sealed off as authorities work to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
