New Delhi: A bad news has come from the sports world. An F2 racer has died in an accident at the Belgium Grand Prix. 22-year-old Anthoine was badly injured in the accident. The racer, who hails from France, was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Anthoine Hubert had won the feat of victories in the Monaco and France races this season. Anthoine Hubert was also a part of the F1 Young Driver Program. He was the champion of last season's GP-3 series.

The FIA has officially confirmed Anthoine's death. They issued a statement and said, 'During the race, Hurbert's car collided with the first barrier and then the second race car coming from behind at a high speed. Juan Manuel Correa of Car No-12, who is from the US, is undergoing treatment and driver Giuliano Alesi of Car No-20 has been declared fit from the medical centre and was sent back.

Anthoine had fractures on both feet. The spinal cord was also hurt. The FIA said in its statement that they were rushed to the hospital by helicopter in view of the critical condition. During this time Anthoine remained unconscious, his surgery was also done but life could not be saved. Following the news of Anthoine's death, Formula 2's Sunday sprint race was cancelled in Anthoine's honour.
