Discussion of 'immunity passport' is in full swing these days amid efforts to stop the epidemic corona from spreading. Some governments are emphasizing on such documents which certify the immunity of a person. However, experts believe that this will lead to discrimination.

For your information, tell me that the development of the corona virus vaccine is still late. In such a situation, there is a huge debate going on about the proposal to prove that a person is infected and has immunity to SARS-COV-2 infection. Many countries including the US, Chile, Germany, Italy and Britain have suggested the use of 'immunity passport'. Meaning, those who will have 'immunity passport' can be given exemption for other tasks including restriction of physical distance.

In his statement, Upasana Ray, senior scientist at CSIR's Kolkata-based Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, said in a special conversation that the rationale behind certifying people to be resistant is that such people have antibodies to fight the virus and are present. However, India's position in this regard is very cautious. At the same, Manoh Murahekar, director of ICMR's Chennai-based National Institute of Epidemiology, said, "There is no evidence now that a person infected with Kovid-19 cannot suffer again." There are reports of people getting infected again from South Korea. Therefore, it is not practical to give an immunity passport on the basis of having SARS-COV-2 antibody in the blood.
