Kolkata: West Bengal goes to polls in the eighth and final phase today. In fact, 35 seats in 4 districts are going to polls today. Most importantly, the direct contest between the TMC and the BJP was seen in the phases so far, but the last phase will see a tough contest between the TMC-Congress and the Left alliance. Let me tell you that in this phase, all parties have a special eye on Muslim voters.

In fact, 35 seats in the 4 districts going to polls today include 11 seats in Birbhum, 6 in Malda, 11 in Murshidabad, 7 in Kolkata North. A total of 84 lakh 77 thousand 728 voters are going to exercise their franchise today. Out of these, 43 lakh 55 thousand 853 male voters and 41 lakh 21 thousand 735 female voters. In addition, 158 transgenders are also ready to cast their votes in this phase. Most importantly, polling will also be held at booth no. However, the fate of many VIP voters is also to be decided in the eighth phase.

You must be aware that Abdul Razzaq, the TMC candidate from Jalangi Assembly in Murshidabad, is pitted against BJP candidate Chandan Mandal and Saiful Islam of CPM. Apart from this, Sadhan Pandey is pitted against KALYAN CHOUBEY of BJP and RUPA BAGCHI of CPM, Kolkata. Ahead of the 8th and final phase of polling today, PM Modi has appealed to the people of Bengal to vote. In a tweet, he said, "Enrich the festival of democracy by voting voters as per corona protocol."
