The political stir has intensified in West Bengal ahead of the assembly election next year. Mamata Banerjee's TMC received a major setback on Friday. Her rebel Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari has resigned as Minister. He has sent his resignation letter via email to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar at 1:00 pm. Suvendu sent his resignation to CM Mamata Banerjee. The CM accepted his resignation and sent it to the Governor.

Suvendu Adhikari was continuously meeting without any banner and poster of Mamata Banerjee. On the other hand, TMC MLA from Cooch Behar South, Mihir Goswami, on Thursday announced that he would break up with the party TMC. According to sources, Mihir has gone to Delhi and is likely to join the BJP.

Suvendu was upset with the activities of Prashant Kishore, the election strategist of Mamata Banerjee, and Abhishek Banerjee, MP nephew of CM Mamata Banerjee. He was recently removed from several party posts. He resigned from the post of chairman of HRBC yesterday. BJP state unit president Dilip Ghosh welcomed Suvendu Adhikari to the BJP and said that the BJP was welcoming him. If he wants to join BJP, then BJP's door is open for him.
