Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was not allowed by the Central government to participate in the World Peace Conference to be held in Italy (ROME). While protests have been going on so far, there have been voices from within the BJP. In fact, the BJP leader in Bengal has questioned Mamata's non-permission. In fact, after the External Affairs Ministry (MEA) cancelled his visit to Italy, the BJP leader has openly tweeted in favour of Mamata Banerjee. You can see retired Col. Deeptangsu Chaudhary left the TMC and joined the BJP before the assembly elections.

In fact, in a tweet in favour of Mamata, the BJP leader wrote, "How can a "Hindu lover" Government of India not allow a liberal/liberal Hindu woman to attend the International Conference of All Religions in Rome? Is it the least jealous, revenge or morality among those who constantly swear and affirm by democracy? Was Jesus not right? O Lord, forgive the ignorant.'' Let me tell you all that the Chief Minister has expressed his displeasure over the Centre's decision after the Government of India earlier refused to allow Mamata Banerjee to visit Rome.

She said, 'The German Chancellor was called. The Pope was called, the Imam was called as a Muslim and I was called as a Hindu. You talk about Hinduism, so what is the problem here? The only reason is that these people are very jealous of me and I was not allowed to go because of the burning sensation.'

Mamata Banerjee also expressed displeasure and said, "I had sought permission from the Government of India two months ago to participate in the Peace Conference. The Italian government had sent me a special invitation to attend the conference. But today, a letter was sent from the Central Government stating that it is not right for a Chief Minister to go there. WHO has approved the vaccine. I ask how the PM went to America then. Why didn't you let me represent India in Rome? You do the same every time. After all, why doesn't the Chief Minister not allowed to go out?''
