Bengal elections: Congress alleges TMC officials eatting cemetery money

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has been in power for 10 years in West Bengal. Meanwhile, TMC has come under the scanner of several allegations, but this will be the first time that the Congress MLA has accused the Trinamool Congress. The Congress has alleged that TMC workers and party-related people have also digested the cemetery money in connivance with the officer sitting in the administration.

The allegations are levelled against Esha Khan Choudhary, MLA from Sujapur, who belongs to abdul ghani khan choudhary's family. Historically it has been writing the story of the seat and the dominance of the Malda district Congress. Esha Khan alleges that more than Rs 10 lakh has come since 2018 to build nearly 70 cemeteries, but the reality on the ground is something else. Congress MLA Isha Khan Choudhary termed it as a major issue in Malda and said, "The complaint is that in 2017-18, we brought about Rs 9.5 crore from 69 sites from the minority department to our assembly constituency Sujapur.

The point is that since the minority department does not have its own executive wing or engineer, district collector Kaushik Bandyopadhyay takes the responsibility of doing it. After work started in 50 sites, various complaints started pouring in. Even after paying full payment to the cadres, 70 percent of the work is still pending. Where the wall is to be completed 100%, the work has been done only 30 percent. This is a big issue in Malda."
