Siddikullah Chaudhary, Minister of State of West Bengal of India, says that he has had to cancel his six-day visit to Bangladesh as he has been denied a visa. Siddikullah's visit was to begin on Thursday. He is also the Bengal president of Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind. He said on Wednesday that it was his completely personal journey. Which was approved by the government of West Bengal and the Ministry of External Affairs.

 Although a senior deputy high commission officer of Bangladesh neither accepted nor denied the claim of cancellation of visa. He only said that the necessary clearance from Dhaka has not reached our Kolkata office yet. Siddikulla applied for a visa on 23 December. The officer said, 'We forward visa applications to Dhaka to get the necessary clearances in some cases. Clearance from Dhaka has not reached Kolkata office yet. Our office was closed on Wednesday due to Christmas.

Siddikullah is also one of those who raise voice against the Citizenship Act (CAA) inside the Trinamool. It is believed that Bangladesh wants to be neutral on this matter. That is why he did not give a visa to the minister. Siddikulla says that he had informed the Chief Minister's Office about his visit on December 5 and he was approved on December 8. After this, he sought permission from the central government, which he got on December 13.
